We love our leather!

Me being a tough Harley Girl!

Matching Jackets

The one thing that I LOVE about Jon having a motorcycle, is that I get to wear the apparel! For my birthday several months ago, Jon bought me this beautiful cream colored leather Harley Davidson Jacket. I got it in the summer, and it was too hot to wear. Now that it cool outside, I have been able to wear it. I absolutely love it! There is a big eagle on the back outlined with silver studs. Everytime I wear my jacket I always get compliments on it. Last night Jon and I went to one of his favorite restaurants here in Monterey, Chile great Chile (a middle eastern restaurant). We wore our leather jackets and decided to take some pictures!

Friendly intruders!

I walked outside of our condo to throw something away, and I was surprised to see 3 deer in the driveway! I have seen deer around every now and then, but never in OUR yard. They were so cute! I got a picture of them as they were headed across the street. I just LOVE animals! (Sorry the picture is bad but it was dark outside) The first picture is on a different day when we were driving down the street.

My first Spanish Test!

I just realized that I don't have any posts about school! I have been in my spanish class now for over three weeks. It is going great! I REALLY enjoy it! We had our first test yesterday. There were three different parts, Listening Comprehension, Reading Comprehension, and Speaking. We got our results back today and I got all A's and one B+!! I was so excited! I feel great because I do not want to fall behind. There is just way too much info to know. I was shocked on my first day of school when they gave us all of our books for the class....ALL 23 OF THEM! I didn't realize there was sooooo much!!
Anyway, I love my class and am grateful for the opportunity I have to go to school here and learn the language I have always wanted to learn! (And it's for FREE too! Since Jon is in the military). I feel so blessed!

Missing Home.....

I love the new life Jon and I have started, but I can't help but miss my family and friends back home. This past weekend I have really missed everyone. And I really miss all of my animals at my parents house!! :( I found this picture of my sister Alayna and I. It was shortly before I moved to California. My mom took us to Mimi's Cafe for our last girls night out. Miss you sis!!

Feeding the ducks

Today was a holiday so no school! I suggested going to feed the ducks. We always pass by this beautiful park and I see ducks and geese walking around all over. I love animals so much! We had some hamburger buns that were kind of old, so we took those and went to the park. It was such a nice day out, warm! (I hear its freezing in Utah, and snowing up north!) The geese were big and I thought they were going to attack us! We were surrounded by birds! I was the camera man so I got some pictures of Jon feeding them. I wish I could have held the ducks! Not likely. LOL. It was a fun activity. It was cute to see them waddle their way over. Next time though, we are going to Costco to get bread in bulk because they ate it within 5 minutes!! I was sad to leave so early. After that, Jon and I went to Carmel and walked around the shops (and looked at everything that we CANT afford) It is soooo expensive in Carmel. But a beautiful little city!

Dude, Where's My Car??

It would be wrong if I DIDN'T feel embarrassed after admitting this, but I thought I would give you a laugh. To make a LONG story short(er)..... I park in the same spot everyday at school. I'm not the type to drive in circles hoping a closer one will open up. So I just head to the one I know will be open everyday even though it is not the closest to my class. (and I have to walk uphill to get to class. Ouch! I must be out of shape). Well, the other day I was headed to "my spot" when I happened to see one closer available, so I parked there instead. When lunch time came, I started walking to my car, forgetting I had parked somewhere else. When I reached the spot, I was in complete shock to see that the car was GONE! This could not be possible! The only other person with a key is Jon. I immediately called him while he was in class, in a panic I asked if he had taken the car for some reason (he rides his motorcycle to school). He said No. I thought he was teasing me. There was just no way possible it could just disappear! My next thought is that maybe it had gotten towed for some reason. I didn't believe it would have been possible for someone to steal it because Hello! It is a military base!! I kept asking Jon over and over "Are you kidding me Jon?" He definitely was not. I even asked him "Where would it have gone??"(I made it sound like it just got up and left!) He told me to re think about where I parked in the morning, was it possible I could have parked somewhere else? I said "No! I ALWAYS park here!" (At this point, it STILL had not hit me! I am such an idiot!!) After a few more minutes, and feeling like the biggest loser in the world, I realized I HAD parked somewhere else! I cannot believe that after 15 minutes and Jon asking if I had parked somewhere else, it did not register in my head! I felt so stupid. Of course Jon told his whole class too..... The moral of the story.. Just park in the same spot everyday even if there is one closer!! (Or your car might mysteriously disappear!)

What's gotten into me??

I have no idea!! The other day Jon had to attend something on base after school, I knew he would not be home for several hours so I came home and thought I would attempt to make dinner. I ended up making chicken enchiladas and they turned out GREAT!! They were very easy to make. Needless to say, Jon was very surprised to see me cooking when he got home. He had the idea that he would be coming home from a long day to be the one to make dinner. It doesn't end here.... The same night I ended up making brownies and chocolate chip cookies. How original huh. I actually made them because one of the students in my class had a birthday. I am the only married women in the class, and I had to act like I was the homemaker in the class. Ha Ha! So I spent the evening over the stove cooking. It was actually fun! I think I like cooking....as long as I feel like I know how. Anyway, I brought a whole container of my goodies to school and everyone seemed to like them. Well, so they say. A few of my instructors even had a taste! I think next time I will try and make something a little more creative though. I just made what I had ingredients for. I think I'm on a roll!!!

I have OCD!

I have learned that I am a compulsive cleaner as I cook. I am constantly wiping drips and spills. For some reason I just cant seem to wait until the end to clean everything up at once. So, because of my compulsiveness, I end up cleaning the kitchen 15 times while making dinner.

Time for a change!

One thing I have ALWAYS hated, my hair curly! I was one of the lucky ones, that was born with natural curls. BUT, if you never do your hair culry, then what good is it??? I used to do the "scrunch your hair" thing way back when, but have since then convinced myself that that look is not for me. Those that know me will say that my hair is always straight or in most instances UP! I even did my hair straight for my wedding! Well, not anymore!! When I was working back in Utah, I didnt have to be to work until 11:30 in the morning (almost afternoon). That was the life! Sleeping in till ten thirty, Ahh. Now that I am attending school on a military base, I have to be there (and on time) by 7:55 am! Sleep is on my top 3 list of things most valuable to me. Ha Ha. So, I had to figure out a way that I could get to school on time, but not have to wake up at wee hours in the morning to get ready. I guess my hair has now gone from that curly stage to wavy (I just figured this out). So now, I simply put gel in my wet hair before bed and when I wake up it is wavy! I have to do very little with it, and I am out the door! I also, had to cut the makeup! It just takes toooooo long. My mom will say, that she has been telling me to do this for years. (I love you mom!) This has been working great for me! I wake up at 7:00 now! I am able to be on time to class, and I dont feel like I wasted half a day getting ready! Wahoo!

A day in downtown Monterey

Jon and I have really been enjoying our time here so far. Such a perfect place to live for a newly married couple. The weather is so funny here. Every morning its cold and foggy outisde. As the day goes on the sky clears up and it gets warm. When evening comes, its cold again. Jon always tells me "Thats typical Monterey weather". I'm sure a lot of it has to do with the fact that we are right next to the ocean. The weather stays the same here all year round. I am kind of sad that I wont be able to enjoy the fall weather this year. It's my favorite time of year. Downtown Monterey is wonderful. The streets are full of little shops. Jon and I sometimes go to lunch together in downtown. We love going to Jamba Juice there, and getting the Chunky Banana/Strawberry. It's great going to the same school together, because we always get to take our lunch breaks with each other. I love it!
