Welcome to California!

Well, we fianlly made it here to California! We arrived early early Monday morning to Monterey, CA. Right now we are staying with one of Jon's friends until we move into our new place. We actually found a place today, and I am so excited to move in and get to finally decorate my very own place! It was stressful trying to find a place, so I am very glad its done and over with! You would not believe the beautiful ocean views from here! When you drive on the freeway instead of seeing buildings and trees, you see the Ocean! Great views from everywhere! We live in the cutest little city. I love the atmosphere here. There are little streets with coffee shops and bakeries on every corner. Little boutiques and surf shops. So adorable! Every Tuesday evening they have what is called The Farmer's Market. Everyone has their stands set up in the street selling fresh fruits and veggies, homemade jams and jellys, honey and bread, candles etc. I am so excited to go on an evenings walk and buy yummy fresh foods!
We will be unpacking this weekend, and starting school next week. I am finally ready to have a normal consistant routine on a daily basis. Jon and I have a list of goals that we want to get in a habit of doing. Luckily, there is a huge gym where we will be going to school, and we want to start working out together. Ha Ha.

I feel like the luckiest women in the world! My husband is so good to me, I could not ask for a better man. I find that everytime I ask a question like "Can we go get ice cream?" or "Can we stop here or go there?" His response is ALWAYS "Of course! My baby gets whatever she wants!" Wow, how did I get so lucky?? When I ask why he responds this way, he says simply put "Because I love you." He is constantly telling me how much he loves me and that I am the most important thing in the world to him. Awwwwwwwwwwww!

This was probably my favorite activity we did on our trip! Mostly because I am a HUGE animal lover. We went to a park that was just full of monkeys running around everywhere! We bought nuts, bananas, and corn to feed them. The monkeys were so adorable! They would run right up to us and grab the food out of our hands with their cute little fingers! At one point the monkeys actually jumped on us and we got to hold them. As much as I love my husband, I was a little tempted to leave him behind and bring home a monkey with me instead! I love you Jon!!

We spent of total of 10 days in Thailand. Five of them were spent in the city, Bangkok, and the other half was spent on the beautiful beaches of Thailand. One of our activities was spending all day on a speedboat touring different beaches and also snorkling! There is a movie, "The Beach" (with Leonardo Dicaprio in it), that movie was filmed on an island called
"Phi Phi Island". It was so cool to visit the actual place the movie was filmed! Jon and I watched the movie before we went so we knew the significance of where we were! It was a beautiful place, my only complaint was way to many tourists!

I thought it was pretty ironic that I was the one to get sick on our honeymoon. I was as little paranoid while we were in Thailand, so I tried not to eat anything weird and I always washed my hands and then used hand sanitizer. Jon on the other hand, was completely opposite. My only conclusion is that Jon is more immune to the bacteria outside of the U.S. since he has been to Iraq. After being deathly ill for several days, I finally went to the hospital. I was lucky enough to see an American doctor. They did some blood tests and the results came back that I had a bacterial infection in my intestines. The doctor told me that I either had ecoli or salmonnela. He said the most common way to get this is from drinking ICED drinks. They do not use bottled water for ice, so the ice melts in your drink and your drink is then contaminated.
